Special Report: GOBA 2022 Day 8 Last Day Troy to Sidney, Ohio
Saturday, June 25, 2022. Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure.
The Last Day, The Last Ride, Last Special Report!
Will someone turn those robins off! I’m up! My entire circadian rhythm has been tampered with, I no longer go to bed at 2 AM and up at 8 AM, I’m in bed by 10:30 PM and up with the robins at 4:30- 5 AM. I seriously surprise myself. I also have cut back on my coffee consumption. 5 cups are my usual daily intake now less than a cup a day when I can get it, and somehow I can still function.
My Metrohealth Registered Dietician told me, my Nurse Practitioner told me, heck even my cardiologist told me, eat avocados! Well, it’s not for trying. There is something I dislike in the texture or the taste of one of these green fruit bombs. But mix it in something and I enjoy it. In fact, so help me God, I even ordered the guacamole on the side at the Mexican restaurant in Wopak. I thought it was the best I ever had. Jan said she likes it chunkier. I suppose; this did have the consistency of Gerber’s Strained Carrots. If it’s safe enough for a baby it should be safe enough for me.
But there it was! In big green avocado green on the sign. My last breakfast for the last day, on the last ride.
Isn’t it funny how pictures versus the real thing never match the reality?
Well, I had to try it at least once. Did I like it? Yes, it was tasty. Would I buy it again? At $3.99 Most definitely after cashing in a major lottery and I don’t see that happening soon.
The Last AM Snack Stop.
Look at that smile! Everyone was feeling good today. My legs recovered and all pain subsided. I was soaking it all in.
Last Interesting Sight
Around most of the bends, there was always something interesting to see.
Last Time I see Joshlyn and Suzi Ride Together.
Joshlyn and Suzi I overheard said they haven’t had a photo of them riding together. But Mr. Finger Fumble here didn’t have the camera ready.
Well, there they go!
Last Buckeye Trail Trail Blaze
I can’t help but notice we are on the Buckeye Trail. Those 2 blue blazes indicate a turn to the left. This is where we get off with a turn to the right.
Last Lunch Stop.
The Last Smile.
The Last Flat Tire.
Well, it was the only flat. A sharp tiny piece of metal protruded thru the tread in the front tire. Thank you, Jan for the use of your tire pump. Worked better than mine. You’ll have to show me how you got it back on the frame. It didn’t look easy.
Last GOBA Road Mark.
Till next year.
This concludes the Special Report on GOBA 2022.
Like most rides, it had its ups and downs, a microcosm of life from the viewpoint of sitting on a bicycle seat. May the rest of your year be as rewarding, as satisfying, and as delicious as my week was and to all, tailwinds and long downhill runouts.

You know this but it bears repeating: Your support is so much appreciated!
It was fun riding with you. I finally figured out how to put the pump away. Jan
