Thank You!
Gather up, folks, cause Mickey and I want to give you all a huge group hug!
I am stunned by the massive amount of support you have shown by subscribing to our Sailing Saga of the Sea Marie. It is so gratifying to have so many of you believe in us. I know many are sitting on the fence and that’s ok. This publishing format is new to many people, myself included. It will take some time to build trust and for you to get to know Mickey and me. We just want you to know we are going to be here for as long as it takes to get our entire journey out for you to experience.
Let me ask you a question, do you like paywalls? You know, where a website lists a headline that really looks exciting only to find out that in order to read all of it you have to pay upfront. Boy, do I hate that. And I bet you do too.
So I want to do something different. I know, people are telling me I am crazy for even thinking about this. I want to completely eliminate this paywall. Everything on my Substack page will be free but with a catch.
Let me ask you another question, would you buy me a cup of coffee, let’s say from Starbucks or any coffee shop you prefer if I told you the story of the incredible journey Mickey and I had? A cup of coffee for a story. It’s a long story so how about 2 cups of coffee, nothing fancy just a medium hot cup of Caffe Latte. What would that cost you? About 5 dollars? How about I came back again in a few days with another adventure. You would probably offer me another cup or 2 of coffee. Well, what if I would say thanks but no thanks, that coffee you bought me a couple of days ago is good for the rest of the month.
What I am saying is for $5.00 a month which is the lowest I can charge on this platform you will be getting the entire story, background, and all. But only if you think my story is worth it. I am willing to trust you that you wouldn’t mind buying me a couple of cups of coffee to read a tale or two. If you feel generous substack even offers gift subscriptions. Someone you know may really enjoy our travels and you would make their day. Pretty crazy idea, wouldn’t you say?
Think about it and write your thoughts in the comments below.
