Mickey is a brown tabby and white not a black and white. Is he still with you?

My cat friends have agreed he is a American Shorthair breed. I'll try to post more pictures of him from different angles. I have a good friend keeping Mickey happy as he has another cat for Mickey to play with. I just visited him yesterday.

Since he was of unknown parentage, he's probably not a purebred kitty. That matters not a whit! He's a beauty and obviously very smart and brave. If he were entered in the pet division of a cat show (I foolishly did that scene for two decades) he'd be called a domestic shorthair. I have two domestic shorthairs now. One is a rescue from the humane society and the other is a solid blue Russian Blue lookalike out of my solid brown with an unknown father. Both are good ratters but probably will never get near the water. They are old now and will be our last cats as we want to go boating! Mickey is very special. Aloha...Ana

Yes I agree he is not a purebred as I found him by himself on my treelawn after a thunderstorm that scared him so much. I have no idea what Mickey's parentage look like. There is another domestic shorthair in the neighborhood that has a likeness to Mickey. Could be a parent. From now on I'll refer Mickey as a Domestic Shorthair. I was very reluctant to take Mickey on the cruise, had he been much older he would have stayed more on the boat. Once Mickey figured out how to undo the double velcro screen closure he was free range. The harness was only a deterent, I wanted Mickey to be able to free himself if he ever got in deep trouble. He was well behaved when we were at anchor and surrounded by water. Mickey turned out to be a great swimmer! But the second the bow nuzzled up to a dock Mickey was out exploring. You got good ratters, that's good, Mickey was a great bug catcher and you should see him going after the anole lizzards in Florida! I'm sure he misses that to this day.
